Job Title: Network Support Analyst 1-5 Salary Range: Level 1: Step 1: $57,100 Step 7: $81,572 Level 2: Step 1: $62,812 Step 7: $89,731 Level 3: Step 1: $69,092 Step 7: $98,703 Level 4: Step 1 $76.001 Step 7: $108,573 Level 5: Step 1 $86,703 Step 7: $123,862 Department: Office of IT Infrastructure & Operations Supervisor: Lead, Network Engineering - South Location: 2 Broadway, New York, NY 10004 or other locations as required Hours of Work: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (8 work hours/day) or various as required Summary:The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support for all aspects of connectivity between endpoints utilizing MTA's integrated LAN/WAN network environment. Responsibilities: Level 1- Install, configure and troubleshoot network and SAN solutions supporting critical business functions and customer facing services.
- Work with other IT technical resources to support all network related technical problems and services.
- Support satellite locations in a timely and effective manner during the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all network related technologies.
- Ensure all required system documentation and record keeping requirements associated with maintaining and controlling IT assets are completed accurately, timely and in accordance with MTA policies and procedures and department requirements.
- Participate in the evaluation of new connectivity products and technologies.
- Evaluate connectivity requests and requirements and recommend effective technological solutions.
- Guide less senior technicians and staff in the performance of their tasks.
- Design and engineer solutions and standards to be applied within the section.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of tasks associated with network technology related projects.
- Install and oversee the configuration and troubleshooting of complex network and SAN solutions supporting critical business functions and customer facing services.
- Direct the design and engineering of solutions for projects to be implemented within the section.
- Lead the planning and coordination of tasks and activities in support of network related projects and initiatives.
- Working knowledge with any of the following technologies:
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cisco DNA Center
- Python Programing
- BIG-IP (F5)
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with configuring, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting network connectivity equipment including but not limited to switches, routers and wireless equipment.
- Basic working knowledge of LAN/WAN/SAN network protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot and support technical issues both remotely and on-site using standard MTA tools and techniques.
- Ability to learn and apply new technology.
- Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, technical manuals and documentation such that supported equipment and software can be maintained with minimal training.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.

- Must be able to move and lift up to 25 lbs. of equipment such as switches, routers, UPS, laptops, firewalls, etc.

- Strong knowledge and familiarity with configuring, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity equipment including but not limited to switches, routers and wireless equipment.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN/SAN network protocols and use of protocol analysis tools for data packet inspection.
- Ability to provide in-depth technical direction to less senior staff members.
- Ability to design and engineer complex solutions incorporating standards and industry best practice to enhance and expand the functionality of the Corporate Data Network incorporating fault tolerance, resiliency and scalability.
- Advanced knowledge and familiarity with configuring, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting network connectivity equipment including but not limited to switches, routers and wireless equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN/SAN network protocols and use of protocol analysis tools for data packet inspection.
- Ability to formulate a plan, define tasks, and coordinate activity required to successfully execute network technology related projects.
- Ability to plan activities and provide advanced technical direction to less senior staff members.
- Must demonstrate excellent knowledge and familiarity with configuring, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting network connectivity equipment including but not limited to switches, routers and wireless equipment.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or a minimum of 1 years' experience installing, maintaining and supporting network technologies.
- Must possess a basic knowledge, familiarity and experience with maintaining and supporting a complex network environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline; or a minimum of 5 years' experience installing, maintaining and supporting network technologies.
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years' experience maintaining and supporting a complex network environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline; or a minimum of 7 years' experience installing, maintaining and supporting network technologies.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining and supporting a complex network environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline; or a minimum of 10 years' experience installing, maintaining and supporting network technologies.
- Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience maintaining and supporting a complex network environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline; or a minimum of 12 years' experience installing, maintaining and supporting network technologies.
