The Product Manager, Beacon Products' focus includes the Beacon system, a Customer information system for the NYC Subway system. It provides Train Arrival information and targeted customer alert messages at countdown clocks on the "B" Division train line that consists of the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, J, L, M, N, Q, R W & Z lines. As trains move through the Subway tunnels, they move past virtual tripwires which are made from Bluetooth Beacons. The beacons track train movement and allows the system to predict and provide train arrival information in real time to customers on the train platforms and mobile apps. The Data is collected in the subways by the iTrack home grown system which process the information and packages it up to send it to a Drupal CMS. The Drupal application processes all the arrival information and messages intended for a specific station and routes it out to the signs at that station via a large Internet of things (IoT) data distribution hub. There are close to 2000 signs throughout the NYC Subway system which get their real time subway arrival and messaging information via the Beacon system. Alert messages can be sent via the Beacon system from the Rail Control Center to any or all of the signs connected to the system.
