Our client, a well-known Global Investment Bank, is looking to hire a

Full Time Python Developer to join their Global Asset Management team. Candidates must be located in the

NYC area for this

Hybrid role, willing to commute to their office 2-3 times/week

. As a Software Developer, you'll have the satisfaction of seeing the software development process from start to finish. You will be involved from understanding the opportunity and the business case, through to prototyping requirements and delivering the final solution. You'll design, make technology decisions, ensure security by design, code, document, test performance, and provide support.

THE DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver technology solutions for the client's Global Asset Management business and c ollaborate with colleagues globally, working with a variety of modern technologies all built on a cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Use strong Data Engineering and Cloud skills to work with modern technology deploying Microservices to the Cloud.
  • Understand opportunity and business case, prototype requirements and deliver final solution.
  • Contribute to the team using CI/CD, BDD, code quality and monitoring.
  • Build Data and Control Pipelines across a variety of technologies (Python, JavaScript, AWS) using event-driven messaging and APIs.

THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE ROLE:
  • 5+ years of hands-on Software Development experience.
  • Proven engineering skills with ability to work in Python using AWS to build data pipelines and microservices.
  • Relational databases with SQL and/or non-relational databases.
  • Design Patterns, Testing methodologies and overall SDLC.
  • JavaScript, CI/CD, BDD and API's.
  • Comfortable proposing designs, gathering feedback from others, building solutions with reusability in mind and documenting / explaining how the solution works.
  • Comprehension of security, including authentication and authorization.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Shell Scripting, load balancing and basic networking.
  • Building solutions considering user experience, automation, security, performance, resilience, cost, scale and reusability.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Airflow, containers / Kubernetes, GitOps / ArgoCD and Vault.
  • Data Lake, Data Warehouse.
