Our client, one of the largest banks in the US with wealth management, investment banking, and international business, is seeking anQuartz Equity Infrastructure Developer

Location: New York, NY

Position Type: Contract

Job Summary:

The prospective candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, designing and maintaining core components of the Equity Platform including application and system instrumentation, capacity planning and forecasting tools and broader system observability tools. This will require a close partnership and collaboration with the Application-specific developers of the platform, our Application Operations teams, the Core Quartz platform developers and our Business partners.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in python, data science, or cross-language application development
  • Ability to learn and work productively within a large existing platform and suite of applications
  • An understanding of distributed systems architecture (Resiliency, n-Tier Service design, High Performance Computing, etc.)
  • A working knowledge of statistics, metrics and data visualization
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Experience with capacity and performance management (Queuing theory, Amdahl's law, etc.)
  • As our Equity Derivatives business continues to grow and our reliance on the Quartz Equity platform for accurate and timely information on End-of-Day and Intra-Day risk increases with it, we require additional resources who can help with managing that grow by building tools that can:
  • Capture key performance indicators (KPIs) across our critical systems,
  • Correlate those indicators with system utilization metrics,
  • Present that data to system and development engineers in a form that can be used for capacity planning and root-cause analysis of system performance issues.
