The Risk Enterprise Data Capabilities Adoption Lead is a critical member of the Risk Federated Chief Data Office (FCDO), reporting into the FCDO and responsible for navigating the multiple components that ensure that Risk fulfills the alignment of Risk data and processes within the framework set by the ECDO data capabilities and tooling strategy. The responsibilities will include evolving the definition and designing the Risk critical data elements and process, designing and driving adoption of the data quality remediation process into Risk and ensuring the definition and usage of data lineage and modelling is practically deployed for Risk. A good understanding of risk processes and reports, product processing within the financial services industry and data management is essential. This position requires a thorough understanding of enterprise data capabilities combined with practical experience of implementing them in a complex organisation. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. The candidate will be an individual contributor however may be responsible for leading a small team of specialists potentially across different geographies and delivering high-quality work products.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the ECDO Enterprise Data Capabilities processes and tooling are created and implemented in a manner that creates value for Risk to adopt.

Work with ECDO to define the strategy for the data capabilities, including the interim and target state business architecture, processes, governance and sub-capabilities; work with the DART and Risk management teams to receive buy-in to the strategy, target state, and execution plan

Help identify tooling needed for foundational data capabilities and evaluate any existing such tooling available in the environment today

Track current vs target state delivery of Enterprise Data Capabilities and report into ECDO, DART and Risk management

Understand Risk specifications for the implementation – or enhancement – of all data governance tools and engage with foundational data capability initiatives and relevant users of all types; implement clear process flows for their use

Drive Risk adoption of the Capabilities into the businesses, end users, and use cases

Partner with ICG and GCB Technology to adopt and implement all necessary data governance tools for usage in Risk processes

Partner with DART and Risk data governance tool operational users to ensure consistent, effective and sustainable data governance processes (e.g., documentation of CDE’s, data lineage, data models, logging of data quality defects) by business/function/region

QualificationA senior delivery manager with 15+ years of relevant experience in the definition, analysis, implementation of data management related initiatives

Knowledge of risk reporting and processes and understanding of risk stripes is essential

Financial service industry acumen and experience to lead large cross-functional initiatives

Understanding of data governance, management, and data capabilities needed for a robust data program in support of business objectives.

Knowledgeable in risk platforms, architecture, and technology in banking.

Experience in risk data, financial platform implementations and managing risk systems.

Experience in leading the establishment of data capabilities at an enterprise level.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, appreciation of the enterprise data vision.

Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in absence of detailed instructions.

Impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate effectively with management, vendors, and global teams.

Ability to influence senior Risk, Finance and business stakeholders.

Ability to effectively communicate, both upwards and downwards, across organizational levels.

Flexible, team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Experience of change management with program/project management or PMO experience in using a structured methodology to successfully track, plan, monitor, and report on concurrent, multiple projects.

Proven ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment, resolve problems, and offer impacting solutions.

Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced finance environment, and lead and drive complex operational initiatives across multiple geographies with diverse resources.
