The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing the current state and then design, implement, and maintain our client security infrastructure and controls to ensure information systems and data are protected from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance, and a proven track record of implementing and managing effective security programs. Responsibilities: • Design, and implement application security infrastructure and controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and data encryption • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies to protect against potential security threats • Monitor and analyze security events to identify potential security incidents and respond to them in a timely manner • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, IRS 1075 • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures • Collaborate with development and IT teams to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into the design and implementation of new systems and applications • Provide guidance and support to other technical teams on security best practices, policies, and procedures • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure that our organization's information systems and data are available and recoverable in the event of a disaster or disruption • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices related to information security • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that our organization's information systems and data comply with applicable laws and regulations • Conduct security awareness training for employees and contractors to promote a culture of security throughout the organization • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies and make recommendations for improvements to the security program • Participate in audits and assessments of the security program Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a security specialist role, preferably in a regulated industry such as government or finance • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including risk management, threat analysis, and incident response • Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and data encryption • Familiarity with security standards and regulations such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISSP, or CISM are preferred • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scanners.
