Linux System AdministratorSmall, rapidly growing proprietary trading firm is expanding its systems administration team.We are a Linux shop both on the server side and the trader desktops.We run Windows servers very rarely and Windows desktops as needed.

Fluency in Linux administration is a must.Some Windows administration skills are a plus but not strictly necessary.We face our users directly and interact with them frequently.Good communication skills are important.Candidate must be able to work problems to completion and to tolerate frequent context switches.

Responsibilities include:# Installations of workstations on trading floors and in offices.# Installations of servers and networking appliances in data centers sometimes requiring travel.# Technologies of particular interest are: bind, Ansible, Linux KVM, Zabbix, Google workplace collaboration and productivity tools.# Scripting skills are primarily in bash and Python and occasionally SQL and Perl.# Cybersecurity tooling includes 2FA, iptable rulesets, Malwarebytes, fail2ban, etc.Occasional tasks include:# Hardware maintenance.# Large-scale buildouts sometimes requiring travel, both domestic and international.# Installations of appliances such as printers, phones, televisions etc.
