Our client is hiring a Senior Operations Engineer on a Long-Term Contract Basis Location: Remote Duties: Working as part of a global team of 4, maintaining the full stack infrastructure and administration for ConfirmIT Survey Platform. Daily work requires checking ticketing/communication systems and collaborating within the team to work on incoming requests eg account maintenance, general troubleshooting, data transfers, software patching, networking issues, security concerns and other similar demands related to the survey system overall. Project work consist of short to medium timeframe projects as required by the system eg version upgrades, software installs, more detailed maintenance and security initiatives. Delegation of projects is determined from within the team and overall priorities of the Firm. Working hours are generally typical business hours, but will require some weekend, holiday and afterhours work, dependent on the situation. The team shares on call support duties which will require assigned periods where this role is the first point of call for any emergency or critical issue. Skills: Technical Requirements Strong technical expertise and administration experience on Websphere/Weblogic/IIS/Glassfish Application Server or Microsoft IIS version 8 or higher. Technical knowledge and administration experience on .NET technologies including knowledge on web server administration. Administration and support of our global middleware software platforms primarily based on IIS Application server. Deployments of new applications (Go Cd or Octopus) and troubleshooting of existing applications on the before mentioned software platforms. Administration and support of the Single Sign On (Okta) infrastructure, our monitoring systems (Splunk) and its integration with the ticketing system as well as several tools that support the IT functions (CMDB, Confluence, GitHUB) Continuous contributions to improve our software platform environments and their support by reviewing existing processes, documenting and following best practices and troubleshooting procedures. Basic but solid understanding of Windows and Linux server operating systems, host virtualization and IP networking concepts. Scripting knowledge in PowerShell or python to automate repetitive tasks. Strong understanding of ITIL Processes. Experience leading a software product from concept development through launch including road-mapping, specification, and ongoing customer engagement Experience on cloud computing must include scalability, adaptability, extensibility and manageability. Experience or background in SMTP and SQL a plus. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
