The person who is hired to fill this position will be responsible for installation, configuration and management of the agency UNIX servers operating on Solaris and Red Hat Linux software in an Oracle and Hewlett Packard Enterprise hardware platform. The candidate must have excellent experience with installation and configuration of both physical and virtual servers in an enterprise Data Center environment, expert knowledge of Oracle T series and HPE server hardware, and strong knowledge of Veritas File System and Cluster software in a Solaris 10/11 environment and VMware virtualization. The candidate will be working with a team of system administrators and supporting a team of Oracle Database Administrators (DBAs). Responsibilities include: Management of physical Oracle T5 and T7 series and HPE DL servers, in an Enterprise Data Center environment. Installation and configuration of Solaris operating system and Logical domains. Installation and configuration of Red Hat Linux operating system and VMware virtualization. Configuration of Veritas File System and ZFS file system and Veritas VCS clustering software for system failover. Utilization of system monitoring tools to manage and troubleshoot server issues. Creation and modification of UNIX shell scripts to manage and automate server processes. Work closely with DBAs on Oracle database installation and configuration. Monitor all UNIX database backup and restore operation. Skills: Working knowledge of Oracle Solaris 10/11 and Red Hat Linux 7/8 Good experience with physical Oracle server installation Experience with managing Oracle domains Experience with Veritas File system and VCS Experience with VMware 6/7 Strong scripting experience using UNIX Shell Process automation using Shell scripting, python and Ansible Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong documentation and organization skills Education requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
