Our crypto trading platform client is looking for an engineering manager to help build their trading platform. Must have distributed systems programming experience and be fluent in at least 2 programming languages. Responsibilities:
- Growing and leading a globally distributed engineering teams for Trading and Investments
- Establishing a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability where engineers are encouraged to fail fast, follow best engineering practices and take risks
- Set clear expectations via practices such as 1:1s, goal setting, and constant feedback.
- Create growth opportunities for team members and address gaps via mentoring and performance management
- Working closely internal business stakeholders to deliver highly scalable crypto trading and investments platform with advanced trading features
- Partner with product managers and operations in project planning, dependency management, risk management, and continuous process improvement. Make use of metrics!
- Contribute to bug fixes and small features
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing an engineering team of 10+ individuals
- Coach and groom future technical leads and engineering managers
- Foster healthy engineering management in the organization
- Can build a diverse, inclusive, and decentralized team, and scale the engineering team
- Attract and retain senior engineers
- People management and team building:
- 10+ years of experience hands on, full software development lifecycle
- Experienced in architectural patterns of highly scalable distributed systems
- Fluent in at least two programming languages
- Experienced in delivering highly scalable distributed systems
- Can evaluate and design the right processes and systems to facilitate communication
- Increase transparency, improve execution efficiency, and ensure accountability
