Sr. Cloud (UI) Engineer - UI/Javascript Developer (Remote)

New York, New york city, 10060 New york city USA

Vacancy expired!

About the Team:

You'll be joining the Data Protection Team in our Data Security Product Group, whose mission is to build a unified data security system which enables customers to identify and investigate insider threats, identify access to and movement of sensitive data, and ensure regulatory compliance by mitigating data loss risk.

About the Role:

CrowdStrike Falcon Host is a two-component security product. One component is a "sensor": a driver installed on client machines that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon Host cloud. The sensor processes thousands of events per second to provide deep visibility into operations on the endpoint and performs rich correlation and computation to identify malicious events and blocks malicious activity.

The cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer's network, correlates malicious behavior across multiple machines, and presents our customers' operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.

This is a UI/JavaScript Developer role in the engineering team that delivers data protection-focused functionality in the cloud. Engineers in the team own the design and development of core features of the cloud services that directly relate to data protection features of the sensor. The stack used for UI development is based on Ember.js, and candidates experienced with frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue are assisted in getting up to speed. The team operates under the Agile development principles and ships frequently.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and develop user interfaces for security and/or IT administrators that provide visibility into and control of the data in their environment.
  • Design and develop user interface components and associated business logic for JavaScript-based apps, plugins, and/or extensions for browsers (e.g., Google Chrome), email clients (e.g., Microsoft Outlook), and third party web services (e.g., Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive).
  • Own features from design to delivery
  • Collaborate with multi-functional team in various physical locations
  • Troubleshoot issues with the product as reported from customers responsively
  • Other projects as assigned

What You'll Need:
  • Ability to develop high-quality code in JavaScript and can demonstrate that capability, be it through job experience, schoolwork, or contributions to community projects.
  • Experience with Ember.js a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Angular, React, or Vue a plus, if not experienced with Ember.js.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies such as Jtest, QUnit, Mocha & Selenium
  • As a plus: experience with browser extension/plugin development, email client plugin development, or file sync and share web service (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive, Box) plugin/application development.
