TITLE: Technical Product Owner

LOCATION: Remote (Eastern Time Zone Preferred)

DURATION: 9 months contract to Hire

JOB DESCRIPTION: Client is looking for a Technical Product Owner / Business Analyst to serve as a direct business representative to lead requirements analysis and documentation efforts, as well as facilitate the development efforts for product / IT projects. The Product Owner / Business Analyst will work with key stakeholders and Project Managers to support the strategy and objectives of the business and help facilitate project engagement and deployment.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Partners with Business Owners, Project Managers, key stakeholders, and IT to facilitate, define and document relevant business processes, gaining an advanced understanding of the needs, measures, and risks & controls for the process area
  • Owns and maintains a prioritized product work backlogs which includes complete user stories with acceptance criteria that are consumable and testable by the IT
  • Reviews and accepts output of IT and/or the functional teams to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been completed
  • Participates in a cross-functional team of user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop, execute and release in alignment with program and/or product roadmaps
  • Creates and maintains high-quality project documents and diagrams including but not limited to business requirements, functional design, technical specifications and interface diagrams, process flows, gap analysis, use cases, requirements traceability matrix, test scenarios and quality measures, and end user transition and training guidelines
  • Be responsible for following software delivery lifecycle best practices, specifically within the requirements and technical design phase

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience such as Business Analytics, Operations Analytics or Product Development
  • At least 5 years of IT business analysis experience working with software engineering and product development teams to build dynamic web-based solutions
  • Industry best practice qualifications (ITIL, PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO) are highly desired
  • Experience working with the systems development lifecycle utilizing Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
  • Proven IT experience, deep understanding and implementation of IT business strategies
  • Deep practical knowledge of business analysis tools including JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience of initiating and driving projects to completion
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or packages in R/Python
  • Experience with reporting systems and data pipeline architecture
  • Knowledge of multiple technology platforms and software such as Microsoft Office Applications, .NET , HTML, SQL and JavaScript
  • Advanced experience analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases to identify opportunities to streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced ability to independently work to gather business requirements, process flows and use cases to develop and deliver on business capabilities within the approved methodology, writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance.
  • Experience in analyzing business requirements and ability to identify opportunities to drive decisions and streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
