We explore how and why technology works the way it does.What we're looking for:You are a talented, resourceful and efficient editor eager to shape coverage of the world's most important technology news. You're a skilled wordsmith and a stickler for style who is able to offer context on some of the biggest companies and the buzziest startups. In this position, you'll work on a range of stories, from breaking news to enterprise.When news breaks, you'll spring into action, able to write our first take on a big story, assign reporting on the fly and edit string from across the newsroom. As part of our New York-based team, you will work closely with reporters in the bureau, whose beats span the gig economy, online travel, startups and video games, to plan news stories and develop features and investigations. You will also contribute to our broader Global Technology coverage, working with a team of reporters and editors across the globe on our many platforms, including the real-time Bloomberg News service, the web and Bloomberg Businessweek magazine. You are a strong collaborator who steps up to get the job done and inspires and encourages teammates to produce their best journalism.Requirements:Minimum five years of work in journalism
Strong knowledge of and curiosity about all things tech
Experience working in a real-time news environment
The ability to write and edit quickly and concisely under deadline pressure
A penchant for generating and improving story ideas
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
