ROLE DESCRIPTION:The Engagement Manager is a critical role in Citi’s Productivity organization. The key objectives of the Productivity organization is to lead significant Transformation programs in partnership with Citi’s functional and business unit leadership; to develop Citi’s approaches and methods; to build transformational change capabilities across Citi; and to engage Citi employees at all levels in major change.
The Engagement Manager provides hands-on leadership to specific Citi projects and programs. Projects will vary in size, duration, and complexity; will have significant and measurable business value outcomes; and will be highly visible with executive-level sponsorship.
In addition to participating on Productivity team projects and programs, the Engagement Manager specializes in one or more aspects of Transformation and collaborates with Domain teams (i.e. Digital Transformation, Functional Transformation, and Process Excellence) on thought leadership development and / or methodology development (Lean, Agile, etc.).
The Engagement Manager reports directly to a Domain Lead. As the Productivity group evolves and grows, the Engagement Manager will directly manage a small group of Analysts in addition to providing leadership to Engagement Managers and Analysts assigned to Business Transformation projects.
The performance of the Engagement Manager will be measured by a combination of individual and team metrics including ROI for key projects and programs, stakeholder feedback, and contribution to thought and team leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:In partnership with an assigned function or business area project manager, lead and manage all phases of projects within timeline, budget, and scope. Oversee project planning and delivery, including establishing timelines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing project progress. Prepare reports for project sponsors and senior stakeholders regarding status and outcomes of projects. Ensure quality and acceptance of deliverables. Coordinate solution integration points.
Assess stakeholder risks and readiness associated with transformation projects, and develop and manage a stakeholder engagement plan. Develop and oversee delivery of project communications and change management plans to drive engagement of key stakeholders and adoption of solutions. Continually assess and dynamically manage stakeholder risks and readiness associated with transformation projects.
Leverage and coordinate the involvement of Analysts and Domain experts to deliver project results. Directly manage and evaluate the work of Analysts in assigned aspects of projects.
Launch and manage project governance processes throughout the lifecycle of the project. Build trusted partner relationships with all key project stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to and transference of methodologies established by Domain Leads. Maintain project documentation and contribute relevant deliverable to the team’s knowledgebase.
QUALIFICATIONS:At least 5 years of project experience, with at least 2 years of project management experience gained from leading or playing significant roles in projects that incorporated elements of people, process, and technology change. Ideally the projects delivered significant ROI, were sponsored at a senior management level, and spanned analysis, design, and implementation. Business consulting experience within the Financial Services or another regulated industry is strongly preferred.
Proven capability to develop and adapt project management approaches and methods and to lead and train project team members on the approaches and methods.
Working knowledge of important IT digitalization, business transformation, and process excellence concepts and approaches.
Demonstrated track record of positively impacting organizations and transitioning work, processes, and employees to higher value business models.
Ability to lead and manage a cross-functional project team and several direct report team members. Proven experience in coaching and developing direct reports and team members.
