Job Description

Position Purpose Our Insurance client is seeking an experienced enterprise data leader with extensive insurance/warranty industry experience to join the organization to build, implement and operationalize an enterprise wide data governance strategy. This is a newly created role focused on establishing the data governance platform and framework for all Managing General Agent and Warranty businesses within the enterprise and focus on the data needs of various stakeholders including executive management, business unit management, the underwriting team and the actuarial/analytics team and focus on the insurance and warranty business produced on behalf of our various insurance carrier partners. The Enterprise Data Leader will report to the EVP & Chief Data and Analytics Officer and oversee a small team to execute on the strategy. The role will work closely and collaboratively with the Chief Information Officer and the Information Technology team. The ideal candidates will be quick on their feet and nimble in developing business relevant solutions to meet the needs of the varied data needs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish the enterprise data governance strategy
  • Manage and expand data warehouse ecosystem
  • Outline and implement data requirements across the enterprise
  • Create and execute policies for effective data management
  • Establish data and business intelligence architecture, structure and frameworks and execute in conjunction with IT team

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with progressive responsibilities in data governance, management and administration for insurance companies and/or warranty administrators
  • Expertise in modern database and information system technologies
  • Significant experience with SQL and understanding of data requirements of modeling tools such as R, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with data needs of Business Intelligence and Analytics teams
  • The ability to self-start and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
