Role Summary/Purpose

We are looking for a user experience obsessed Product Manager that is focused on delivering best in class products and solutions that enable our merchant partners to grow their sales. As a critical member of the Product organization, the VP, Multisource Financing is responsible for delivering the cascade of financing options that ultimately lead to a “yes” at the point of sale. You will work across teams, both internal and external, to develop and drive the Multisource Financing roadmap focused on increasing customer conversion through a menu of financing solutions. This includes working closely with our network of 3rd party lending partners to ensure financing solutions are available to all customers. As the subject matter expert, you will leverage data, research and experience to identify growth opportunities within the market while gaining alignment within the organization and among key stakeholders to deliver, mobile first, innovative solutions and enhancements that ensure a seamless customer experience through effective resolution of customer needs. The VP, Multisource Financing is comfortable with ambiguity, can operate in a fast moving, agile environment, is a team player that collaborates well cross functionally and acts as an owner, proactively taking initiative.

This position can be remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and manage Synchrony’s Multisource Financing product strategy and capabilities across all platforms. Drive the vision and roadmap of initiatives that secure Synchrony’s position as an industry leader in the space.

  • Lead / own the relationships with our secondary and tertiary lending partners enabled in our multisource solution, including the creation of a seamless customer experience, development and ownership of the P&L and profitability of results.

  • Leverage an “outside in” perspective to align product roadmap to both the customer and partner needs, trends in the industry and a rapidly changing competitive environment.

  • Partner with the various technology and POS platform teams to drive efficiency and commercialization of the product across the franchise. This includes developing and promoting how this innovation is meeting the rapidly changing needs of our business, partners and customers by telling the story internally, with our partners and industry.

  • Lead cross functional planning meetings, provide advice and guidance on direction of product.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the market through effective story telling of industry insights, consumer intel and market analysis, while benchmarking Synchrony’s products against competition.

  • Liaise with Business Development to ensure consumer products are appropriately represented in RFPs with business cases that represent optimal product strategies; provide guidance to new business implementation teams to ensure the product is built properly for new portfolios.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, product needs and growth opportunities, while partnering with key stakeholders to help prioritize efforts against other initiatives Coordinate efforts with other product managers to commercialize across Synchrony’s platforms and portfolios.

  • Proactively engage with Compliance and Legal to ensure adherence with all external and internal compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Own product enhancements from ideation to execution, including product specifications and requirements, wing-to-wing experience, testing and cost/benefit analysis. Lead cross-functional teams, in a matrixed environment, through project plans that include major milestones, critical risk indicators, measures of success and contingencies.

  • Monitor and report on key metrics for the products to assess the success of the product and features and determine necessary enhancements.

  • Strong communication skillset and executive presence is key – Frequent meetings with Clients, Client teams and senior leadership.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of marketing or product experience in the credit card or financial services industries

  • 6+ years marketing or product experience that includes:

    • A proven track record of launching new products or applications with demonstrated business impact

    • Ability to influence and coordinate multi-functional teams

Desired Qualifications:

  • Payments, BNPL, installment lending, credit card, consumer finance or financial services industry experience.

  • Experience working with partners such as Genesis, Fortiva, ScratchPay, Healthcare Finance Direct, Progressive, Katapult, Versatile ChargeAfter and Easypay

  • Experience with lending marketplaces and understand of latest customer experiences, features, enhancements, news, trends in this space.

  • Experience leading strategies targeted toward big ticket purchases and higher average order value.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives and projects in a matrixed environment.

  • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills.

  • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.

  • 10+ years marketing or product innovation/management experience

  • 5+ years managing people and teams

  • Strong background working with clients, reporting on performance and delivering results.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in a fast-changing environment.

  • P&L experience with solid understanding of business financials

  • Current on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies and companies

  • Strong technical knowledge (financial services)

  • Product commercialization experience, marketing and communications expertise

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
