Host / Producer, Entertainment Video

The USA TODAY Network seeks a Host / Producer, Entertainment Video to join its premium video studio. The team is responsible for creating best-in-class, brand-defining digital video series for an array of audiences and platforms. The position is based in New York.

This role is responsible for hosting USA TODAY Life’s flagship, daily video franchise. Additionally, you’ll help lead the editorial and production approach to the show, working closely with the series producer and USA TODAY Life’s team of reporters and editors to deliver daily episodes.

We’re looking for a host with a passion for celebrity news and the entertainment industry. Experience in multimedia reporting and storytelling about the arts, movies, music, television, celebrity and pop culture is essential.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience hosting and interviewing talent in studio and field environments. While the franchise is primarily studio-based, there will be the opportunity for interviews and hosted segments in the field and at major events. We’re looking for someone versatile on camera, naturally conversational and engaging on range of issues, from irreverent to serious.

The role requires sharp editorial judgement, production, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Host daily segments and occasional features for USA TODAY Life’s flagship video franchise
  • Work closely with the USA TODAY Life team to develop video complementing Network entertainment coverage
  • Work with the overall USA TODAY studio team to maintain and grow our slate of productions
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and infuse our entertainment video with an entrepreneurial, forward-looking sprit
  • Cultivate social media presence as a USA TODAY Life host

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in digital video and entertainment
  • Demonstrated experience hosting digital video series and segments in studio and field
  • Understanding of all digital media platforms and social media
  • Experience coordinating and planning news, entertainment, feature, and /or scripted content
  • Strong writing and editorial decision-making skills
  • Experience and skill in Adobe Premiere and After-Effects is a plus
  • Understanding of digital video publishing, programming, and content-management systems
