Objectives

The Head of Asset Management will be responsible for overseeing a multibillion-dollar portfolio of single-family rentals across the country. The candidate will lead the Portfolio Management team and work with the senior leadership to oversee the management of real estate private equity vehicles in Single Family Real Estate, ensuring that deployment and return targets are met.

This team member will determine the appropriate strategies and ensure investment decisions are made that maximize the returns and values. This individual is articulate and professional, a seasoned leader, technologically competent, and skilled in organizational and business development. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a history of excellence at working independently, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and leading teams. This dynamic professional is a leader of people, financially skilled, and an outstanding representative of the company's culture.

The candidate will be entrusted with determining acquisition and disposition strategies and decisions; debt strategy and implementation; allocation and deployment of capital across MSAs, neighborhoods, and quality classes; and optimal usage and application of capital. The candidate will review financial statements and oversee the development of budgets and total return models for the surveillance of investment performance at the portfolio and cohort levels. The candidate will interact with Investment and Asset Management teams to identify areas of focus and improvement at the asset level. The candidate will supervise investor reporting and maintain relationships with investors. This is a highly detail-oriented and analytical position.

Responsibilities Maintain comprehensive oversight of the firm's SFR investment portfolios. Direct the implementation of the investment strategy, business plans, and objectives for each of the funds under management. Determine portfolio allocation and capital deployment strategies, present those strategies to Investment Committee, and make the day-to-day acquisition and disposition decisions to optimize portfolio composition Closely monitor all elements of financial performance; analyze financial statements and make necessary recommended operating adjustments. Review macro, market, and sub-market analysis of the US housing market as it relates to asset management strategies Manage and direct Portfolio Management / Revenue / Capital Expense teams

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of real estate private equity, residential mortgage trading, and analysis/asset management experience. Specific SFR (single family rental) experience/commercial multi-family is needed.
  • Master's degree in finance, real estate, or related field with a strong record of academic achievement.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel required. Preferred proficiency with SQL and Python/R.
  • Strong experience with financial modeling, including detailed property-level financial statement analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and performance metrics.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage varied and constantly changing workloads in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to set personal and project-specific priorities, be highly organized in the day-to-day and longer-term planning and execution, and track and maintain complex schedules.
  • Ability to delegate effectively and manage a team of professionals.
  • Articulate, decisive communicator who understands how to communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of internal and external executives, professionals, and investors.
