Business Analyst - Data Protection - NYC I'm looking to onboard a consultant - Business analyst - to work with me in Data Protection supporting multiple initiatives. While the position doesn't require any particular product subject matter expertise, it would help if the person has experience in application testing with test data masking, and/or Data destruction.
POSITION SUMMARY The Systems Business Analyst II, will help to manage the execution of projects to include the collection of data, normalizing information where possible, performing follow ups with business owners to obtain required details, or working with internal or external resources to gather and document required information in support of project deliverables. The individual will be responsible for translating received information into standardized formats for review and updating project artifacts in a timely manner. The Systems Business Analyst II may assist the project manager by providing project support and coordination and will work closely with PMO teams in the areas of project planning, execution and reporting. 1. Planning, Organization and Maintenance- Create, review, update and maintain project related data and project artifacts.
- Organize any items for follow up or escalation
- Develop, measure and report on project related metrics
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies in data maintenance, reporting and metrics
- Work with the project manager to develop project related artifacts and establish data maintenance plans to ensure information is kept organized and up to date
- Assist in the scheduling of meetings, meeting minutes, action items and follow ups
- Coordinate, schedule and lead meetings where necessary
- Independently perform data analysis and updates where required
- Support project manager to update or maintain project related information and artifacts
- Gather information from the business and systems groups to maintain or update the project related data.
- Coordinate the activities of others and provide timely feedback or follow ups
- Maintain metrics for accurate reporting
- Provide overviews of the position where required
- BA/BS degree and/or related work experience.
- 3+ years of Business Analyst experience including writing business systems requirements, preferably at a financial services company.
- 2+ years of project work and project planning/management
- Data Loss Prevention experience a plus
- Ability to analyze current processes or workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Knowledge of the phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
- Knowledge of project management tools, methodologies and techniques
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Open Workbench
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency using software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio
- Proficiency using standard desktop tools effectively (Microsoft Office 365, Outlook etc.).
- Experience with Jira is a plus
