This is a full-time position for Postdoctoral Researcher in the Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at the New York University Langone Medical Center in the New York City.
Research Description
The laboratory explores the stem cell biology of the skin within the contexts of development, regeneration and inflammatory diseases, leveraging advanced mouse genetic models and human patient tissues.
We are seeking passionate candidates interested in the inflammatory response in the skin, particularly in the following areas:
1) Investigating the molecular pathogenesis of Hidradenitis Suppurativa, focusing on the dynamic interactions between aberrant tunnel epithelium and immune cells.
2) Understanding immune rejection mechanisms in human face transplant (vascularized composite allotransplantation) and developing novel immunotherapies.
3) Advancing immunotherapy approaches for T cell-mediated autoimmune and fibrotic skin diseases, including alopecia areata.
Our laboratory fosters strong collaborations among stem cell biologists, immunologists, clinicians, and bioengineers, providing a robust platform for translational research and therapeutic innovation.
