TITLE: Windows Infrastructure Manger
Location: NYC/WestchesterOur client is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, hands on Senior IT Manager to lead our modern transformation efforts. The Windows Infrastructure manager will lead the IT team responsible for all Windows infrastructure and storage. The Senior IT Manager is responsible for monitoring the efficiency and performance of all systems in their purview. This person will oversee technology infrastructure and operations, ensuring the processes adhere to company policies and regulations. They analyze the schematics and specifications of computer systems, maintaining the safety and security across all networks to prevent unauthorized access. While our infrastructure is almost entirely on premises, we seek to shift into a modern workplace and are looking to shift data to a distributed, cloud based architecture. Security, high availability, and quality of service are crucial to the operationsWhat You'll Do:- Manage a team of IT specialists and coordinate job schedules, vacations, and annual reviews
- Ongoing knowledge sharing and peer training
- Contribute to the annual budget development and ensure cost effectiveness for the IT department
- Research and recommend acquisition of new hardware and software
- Monitor network utilization and performance, implements procedures for network optimization, reliability, and availability
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
- Build long term relationships with outside vendors for IT related products and services
- Day-to-day management of Cloud-based services (Azure, Office 365,), Windows 2012+ Server systems and Infrastructure management experience
- Design, build, configure, implement and support of Cisco UCS, VMware, EMC PowerMax SAN Storage, Linux and Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure systems and backend business applications
- Manage internet facing infrastructure and applications including nginx, IIS, BIND DNS, SMTP appliances/servers, Citrix NetScaler/Client load balancer, backups, application/system patches and security configuration/processes
- Manage corporate infrastructure and applications including Windows AD/DNS, VMware View, Exchange 2013, file/print services, OS/application patches and remote offices
- Identify and script solutions for efficiency and to proactively improve the corporate infrastructure
- Develop, implement, and follow system standards, policies and procedures
- Provide 24 x 7 on-call support on a rotational basis
- Maintain awareness of and evaluate forward looking technologies
- Prepare and deliver service level enhancement recommendations with ROI
- Create and maintain run books and other documentation
- 5+ years of IT management
- 10+ years of direct engineering and design experience expertise in creating repeatable, reliable, scalable applications and systems, with fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills needed to work well with peers, end users, management, and vendors
- Certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, VMware) a plus
