Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Business / Data Analyst for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial clients in New York, NY Most Important Skills:
- Create and manage complex mappings and hierarchies for master data objects, perform data analysis to ensure data integrity across the vertical data chain, and identify and analyze data quality issues in order to support the Securitized Products Finance Business.
- Candidate will be expected to understand existing tools and applications , business flows and proactively identify solutions to standardize and streamline data processes (data pipelines, ad-hoc reports, automation, etc.), communicating financial business process and system solutions to peers across regions and platforms.
- Previous experience and knowledge in Investment Banking (Front Office Portfolio Management applications) or equivalent domain would be a huge plus.
- Analyze, document and design solutions based on iterative conversations with Business users.
- Familiarize with the applications, tools, feeds, databases, and batch files that are supported by the technology team.
- Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered in Production and come up with long term solutions.
- Extract requirements, break down into Development tasks and Track delivery
- 5+ years of Data Analyst experience in a Financial/Banking environment
- Strong knowledge of the Finance Domain
- Knowledge of Financial applications and/or business solutions is required
- Solid knowledge and working experience with various Fixed Income and Loan/Mortgage products and data
- Experience with financial services Data taxonomy, Data structures, Data Cataloging and Data challenges
- Excellent analytic and strategic thinking skills with a strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques
- Expert knowledge of data warehousing and ETL techniques
- Experienced in Data ingestion, mapping, validations and normalization of significant datasets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Expert SQL skills with ability to extract and analyze large volumes of data using Oracle or Sybase databases
- Coding skills in Python and/or R would be a plus
- Expert knowledge of basic statistics is expected
- Reporting and data visualization skills using software like Tableau
- Ability to QA and troubleshoot data
- Strong Technical documentation skills
- Ability to cross collaborate with various stakeholders (Upstream Data providers ,Business & Trading Desks, Engineers/Tech teams and Clients)
- Proficiency with Excel, MS Word, MS Visio and PowerPoint is expected
