Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Jr Financial Business/Data Analyst (non IT) for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York, NY. Must have strong Excel skills, any background in data governance, investment banking, capital markets, regulatory reporting, or liquidity reporting is a plus but not required. This is NOT an IT side data analyst, this is a business side position. This position will be worked on a hybrid (2-3 days a week onsite vs remote) basis and the client is based out of downtown NYC and is requiring full vaccination against COVID Please note - this is a junior/intermediate level position, the client is not looking for a senior level resource, this will be a long-term engagement with good opportunity to train up on various business elements Responsibilities :
- Provides oversight within the First Line of Defense by producing and reviewing daily liquidity reporting with consideration to the Bank's risk appetite, including investigating any day-over-day material variances.
- Analyzes any abnormalities to articulate the root cause and works with team members to resolve
- Works with other members of the Reporting & Analytics team to develop management summaries of liquidity positioning, risk drivers and trends using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Documents any changes to U.S. Treasury reporting processes and the establishment of any new processes.
- Champions and thrives in a high-performance environment with other team members to ensure that overall team goals, objectives and timelines are met.
- Performs ad-hoc analytics and reporting as requested by the U.S. Treasurer and other senior management.
- Development of business requirements for the various products reported on the FR 2052a, specifically to incorporate changes from the current version of the FR 2052a to the new rules provided by the Federal Reserve
- User Acceptance Testing of Technology's development before implementation into production
- Creation and execution of the User Acceptance Test cases
- Understanding of the Federal Reserve's changes of the FR 2052a rules and to reflect changes in the business requirements documents.
- Consulting with members of the US Treasury Reporting and Analytics team for their subject matter expertise on systems and BNS specific data
- 0-3 of experience as a Business Analyst in a professional setting
- 2+ years of Strong analytical skills including extensive experience with PowerPoint, Excel (including pivot tables) and Bloomberg. Advanced knowledge of VBA, Python and SQL is preferred
- 3+ years of experience of complex data analysis experience
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Candidate must be able to articulate their thoughts concisely
- Candidate must have the ability to be a leader in their environment, and participate in group forums, discussions, etc to bring in new ideas and a new thought process
- Must be able to take own ideas/process and combine them with the banks
- This position requires a detailed driven individual and there is a strong need to be able to multi-task it what can be sometimes a stressful environment.
- While reports are circulated to regulatory bodies as well as the Bank's Sr. Management, the results will be vetted with more senior members of the Reporting and Analytics team before distribution. Therefore this role requires attention to accuracy and good communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in finance and computer science preferred.
- Experience within a large Global Banking and Markets environment
- Experience with UAT Testing, and hands on experience using Jira
- Previous experience with the regulatory reporting platform Axiom (Adenza) would be helpful, but not essential.
