Managing Director - Banking Treasury (Balance Sheet Management) for a

conrtract to Hire position with one of our premier financial services clients in

New York, NY. This individual must possess deep knowledge of large-scale Banking Treasury functions (balance sheet, capital, liquidity, asset/liability management, etc) and have a strong understanding of FX, Money Markets, and interest rates risks.

Responsibilities :
  • Oversee the Balance Sheet for the Consumer Bank with respect to liquidity requirements, asset/deposit composition and targets, interest rate risk, capital and return metrics.
  • Provide treasury support to all product lines within the Consumer Bank and partner in developing the business strategy and activities in order to help drive balance sheet objectives and support business goals
  • Evolve Capital Allocation framework within the GCB considering Risk Appetite requirements
  • Stakeholder liaison for Treasury related topics which includes Consumer Bank management team and our regulators
  • Key activities include Balance Sheet oversight and use and cost of firm resources across liquidity, capital, and the interest rate risk profile
  • Business support including informing strategic direction
  • Work with Consumer businesses to understand their objectives and activities to support their balance sheet needs
  • Partner across Treasury, broader Finance and the businesses to support the firm's operating plan and stress testing requirements
  • Incudes loan and deposit levels, deposit beta planning, and returns across multiple metrics
  • Ensure expertise in business product offering to understand associated capital, liquidity, and interest rate risks and balance sheet costs to help facilitate appropriate Treasury policies including transfer pricing and liquidity incentives
  • Support business in meeting return targets in evaluating strategy and product mix and partner across Treasury in evolving a capital allocation process which consider various requirements and constraints including risk appetite
  • Work with businesses and liquidity management function to ensure appropriate modelling of liquidity across products and liquidity stress utilization
  • Drive business balance sheet composition, consistent with operating plan and ALCO objectives
  • Engagement with partners across the firm as well as with regulators
  • Drive need for enhanced capabilities in a constant improvement culture

Required

Skills:
  • Undergraduate/Master's/ Postgraduate degree in Finance or Economics or related fields preferred
  • Proven leadership skills and intellectual capacity to manage multiple work streams
  • 10 - 14 years of relevant experience interacting with Capital Markets and or Treasury
  • Consulting / Management / Financial Services / Investment Banking Experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large teams, complex initiatives and issues and processes at the executive level
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Sound analytical skills to capture and model complex balance sheet issues
  • Seasoned interpersonal skills and excellent communication and writing skills
  • Broad understanding of regulatory and policies, specifically capital and liquidity regulations
