Our client, a global alternative investment manager firm, is seeking a Technology Middle Office BA/Project Manager - ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Location: New York, NY

Who are we looking for?

Searching for a business focused technologist and functional subject matter expert to assist with advancing the technology capabilities of the Middle Office business. The individual will work closely with the Middle Office, as well as, key stakeholders in Fund Finance and Front Office to lead projects, gather and document business requirements and coordinate the development, testing, implementation and ongoing support of these requirements. This individual will be focused on a variety of projects across our post-trade and asset servicing platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with middle office professionals to understand and produce business and functional requirements and collaborate with the development teams to implement solutions.
  • Work with internal resources as well as application vendors to establish the appropriate development approach and timeline
  • Track and maintain project plans, risk matrices, issues lists, and all related project artifacts to ensure successful implementation of related engagements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build relationships on a continuous basis
  • Develop test cases and participate in QA Testing.
  • Develop end-user training materials and deliver training to a broad user base
  • Assist with the analysis of middle office platform processes and capabilities and the ongoing development of a technology strategy
  • Partner with the business to ensure SLAs and other key metrics are met or exceeded
  • Identify best practices for optimizing system use both internally and externally
  • Act as an escalation point for support issues and increase in-house functional support resolution
  • Act as a technical SME

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years industry full cycle experience of SDLC methodologies and approaches, including refining business requirements and defining functional specifications
  • Experience with Business Analysis methodologies, such as BPM, use case modelling, user stories, etc.
  • Excellent conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills enabling comprehension and development of complex technical and business issues, topics, and plans
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work with business users as well as other members of the technical staff
  • Deep understanding of middle office and controller function (e.g. reconciliation, trade operations, collateral management, etc.)
  • Experience with the VPM fund accounting platform is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with data warehouses and business intelligence platforms
  • Technical experience with application infrastructure, including servers, DB, networking.
  • Knowledge of OMS/EMS (Bloomberg AIM, Charles River, Eze Castle, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge of credit instruments (Bank Loans, Bonds, Derivatives, etc.)
  • Experience with SQL and development experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and to deliver multiple projects on time and within budget
  • Adept at listening and soliciting feedback middle office users and stakeholders
  • Must be self-directed and motivated while being a solid team player with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity, faced paced environment
  • PMP Certification is a nice to have.

Educational Requirements:

  • Advanced degree from a top university strongly desired
