Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Vice President, Data Warehouse Developer/Architect for a Full-Time assignment with one of our premier Financial Advisory clients in New York, NY. Position Overview: The Data warehouse Developer will work with Global Data Manager to build high-performance cloud data platform to meet our data analytics and BI reporting needs. This role will work as a key member of a data management team to drive development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the enterprise data warehouse architecture in support of our cloud data strategy.
Responsibilities :- Work with Global Data Manager to engage business users and IT management to lead data quality program and establish high data quality standards with best practice data governance processes
- Develop high-performance and secured data pipeline to transform and integrate source data from internal and external systems to the cloud data warehouse
- Maintain data warehouse and data pipeline operations, which includes troubleshoot issues, performance tuning, and making data quality improvement
- Create high-quality technical documents including, data mapping, data processes, and operation support
- Translate business requirements into data model design and technical solutions
- Develop a common framework with data validation rules, and monitoring reports to ensure data quality and control
- Provide production support to troubleshoot process and data issues, investigate user questions, and identify solutions to resolve these issues
- Provide guidance on effective use of data warehouse platform and facilitate BI reporting and data science model development
- Work in a fast-paced environment and perform effectively in an agile development environment
- Automate standard code deployment and production release processes adhering to change management processes
- Bachelor's degree in computer sciences
- 8+ years in in data engineering and data warehouse engineering in cloud
- 8+ years of overall experience in data warehouse, advanced database design, SQL, stored procedures, views, performance tuning and optimization, database indexing techniques, and database maintenance
- 5+ years of strong technical experience in building scalable data pipelines using Python to integrate structured and unstructured data in both cloud and on-premise environments. Experience in external tables, workflow automation, and supported file types
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in building large cloud data warehouses using Snowflake including database architecture design, data transformations, stored procedures, account, and security principles performance management, etc.
- Experience in data modeling tools (e.g. Erwin, ER/Studio, etc.) and data modeling methodologies such as data vault and dimensional data models
- Understand data security and cloud security methodologies, and experience in configure and manage data security to meet compliance and IT security requirements
- Experience in SDLC process, and Jira in agile design and development methodologies, source code tool(e.g. Git or Bitbucket) and branching strategy
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in AWS services, related data and storage services is a plus
- Understand micro services architecture and methodology is a plus
- Strong knowledge of implementing technology solutions to enhance business productivity
- Successful candidates will be self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute to the success of the department and company.
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies.
- Domain expertise with financial services is a plus.
