Job summaryAmazon Shopping Videos (ASV) is a new strategic program that leverages the potential of video to help millions of customers find product inspiration, learn more about products they are interested in, and interact with great creators and their communities every day across the globe. We enable customers to find relevant content and explore our vast library of product focused videos on our home experiences across desktop, mobile and FireTV, and throughout their shopping journey on Amazon. We support both the viewer and content creator experience. Video content creators can use our Creator App to go live or upload pre-recorded content to Amazon, interact with their audience in real-time through chat, share deals, track their performance and more. We are very much a startup within Amazon aiming to reinvent the way customers use video to shop, and we are looking for motivated, thoughtful self-starters who can partner effectively with our product, sciences, marketing and business development teams to drive innovation.ASV is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to lead the strategy and execution of major cross-team customer-facing initiatives. Responsibilities include collection of business and systems requirements, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead and coordinate design and implementation efforts, coordinating across multiple teams to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time, goals, customer impact and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional teams. The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, destroy limits to scale, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives while rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. This role will require high judgement on how we can deliver for customers in both the short- and long-term. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams
- Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
