A manufacturer and seller of woodworking tools is seeking a Part Time Sales Associate for our Brooklyn showroom.

We are looking for someone with woodworking and retail experience who will thrive and enjoy our customer-centered environment both online and in our retail store. You may be a professional woodworker looking for a complementary job, a beginner looking for a job in the industry, a hobbyist who wants an interesting job, a recent graduate of college, or have some other back story that makes you excited about this position. We have a generous program for employee purchases of tools and we expect that the successful candidate will consider this a great bonus.

The Sales Associate must be trustworthy, responsible and reliable, able to suggest innovations and also take direction and support colleagues.

This P/T position covers 2 weekdays (8 AM - 5 PM), currently Monday + Tuesday (but possibly alternative days if those particularly days don't work for you). You may also be required to work additional hours (on a very rare basis) to prepare or work at tool shows.

You must have sufficient woodworking knowledge and experience to demonstrate our wide range of tools and to answer complex woodworking questions from our customers. We sell an extensive array of tools, both traditional and powered, so you might not initially be expert in them all but you should be interested and a quick study.

You must be reasonably computer savvy and able to contribute to our social media presence. You will interact customers in person, on the telephone, and online. As a small, growing company, we seek staff who can learn and grow with us, have enthusiasm for crafts and woodworking with a touch of history thrown in and. most important a spirit of curiosity, flexibility and a desire to pitch in as needed.

Please include resume and cover letter in your response.
