Location: New York City, NY Description: Our client is currently seeking a UX/Visual Designer III
Top Responsibilities:- As a UI/UX designer in the design team, you will be responsible for crafting guidance as well as working to improve the accessibility of existing and new components, styles, and patterns. Your work will contribute towards efforts to drive a11y forward, pushing for more improved experiences, while bringing accessibility design front and center.
- Create visual assets for guidance that will be referenced and used across the company.
- Work on visual designs & UX explorations that contribute to more accessible components, styles and patterns.
- Documenting UX & visual patterns and components used by multiple projects.
- Be able to produce digital assets, specs and drive the production phase of the design.
- Create aesthetically excellent work that is true to the brand spirit.
- A good understanding of accessibility standards and 1-2 years of experience designing with accessibility in mind.
- Strong and demonstrable visual design skills (color, layout, type, etc.) and fluency on best design practices for mobile and web UIs.
- Work that demonstrates user-centered approaches.
- Understand what it means to design at scale.
- Execute against several work streams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, and deliver clear, organized and detail-oriented solutions.
- Proficiency with Figma.
- 3 to 5+ years of UX and UI design experience.
- 2+ years of professional accessibility design experience.
- An understanding of a11y requirements as established by WCAG.
- Experience working closely with UX and content writers in the tech industry.
- Experience with annotating designs for a11y.
- BA/BS degree in Design (interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
