about the firm please visit our website atPOSITION SUMMARY:Currently, Nuveen has an opportunity
in their New York, NY Charlotte, NC office for a Sr. Project Manager to support their Front
Office. This rolewill lead a project to consolidate the entire
Nuveen taxable fixed income business to a single Order Management System (OMS).
The successful candidate will organize and lead internal IT, operations, and
business partners, along with external vendors, to drive the project to
completion. The candidate will build relationships with business partners and
ensure that their requirements are met throughout the project.The project will be extremely complex and have
senior level awareness across the Nuveen organization. The project affects
several RIA affiliates within Nuveen and is critical-path to the integration of
the legacy TIAA and Nuveen business lines. The candidate will have overall
responsibility for completing the project on time and within budget. A
qualified candidate will have overall responsibility for projects affecting
Nuveen’s taxable fixed income business, beyond the OMS project.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage geographically diverse project teamdelivering large projects
Drive and report on project or program progress,including cost, schedule, issues, and project risks
Assign and monitor tasks throughout all projectphases
Support the development, monitoring, andadherence to project and departmental budget requirements.
Help drive IT performance to higher levels toimprove business user satisfaction, including direct interaction with seniorbusiness leadership.
Drive creation and adoption of improved teamtools and processes, including adherence to agile methodology
Present progress reports or otherproposals to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
15 years of experience leading to successful demonstration ofcompetencies as presented above
Proven management track record in overseeing large, complicated projectsdelivering results in the financial services industry
Broad knowledge of Investment Management industry operations,investing strategies distribution channels and business control and supportfunctions – with specific, in-depth knowledge of the Nuveen business model andits Business Units
Broad knowledge of IT, including experience in managing throughoutthe SDLC
Understand technology-governance frameworks and applications usedin financial services
Experience with Charles River Development's CRIMS order management system and/or other order management systems
Experience with SaaS technology solutions
Experience with Equity, Fixed Income and Derivative asset classes
Ability to effectively build strategic relationships with a broadgroup of stakeholders in order to foster trust and influence key decisions
Experience with mediation and facilitating a constructive approachto dealing with conflict. Ability to address difficult issues and guide otherstoward the accomplishment of identified, meaningful goals
Demonstrated business quantitative and qualitative analysisskills; ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it ina clear and concise manner to senior management; ability to use data andcoherent problem solving methodology in decision making and impact assessment
Ability to build strategic relationships with a broad group ofstakeholders in order to foster trust and influence key decisions
Familiar with Jira, Confluence, and other project management and tracking tools
Prior experience in the Investment industry
Preferred:
Master’s degree in business administration or finance
Possess professional certifications in project management orfinancial
Exceptional communications skills both written and oral, withdemonstrated ability to create in a free-flowing information environment whilemaintaining departmental standards
Possess strong business acumen and service orientation
Strategic thinker; process information through a strategic lensand applies strategic guidelines to issues/assignments
