Location: The Wireless Engineer position is based in New York City. Job requirements includes reporting to office for day-to-day operations and remote support during off hours. Adequate Internet service from home for accessing clients' systems and communication platforms is required to support smart-working modalities implemented by the client.
Wireless Engineer offers support for deployment of new wireless infrastructure . Support also includes preparing, configuring the wireless access points and controllers for installation, and performing site survey.Specific responsibilities include:? Prepare and configure access points and controllers as per the standard? Perform preparatory work (label cables, site-survey etc.)? Unmount existing controllers? Mount new controllers? Reconnect cables? Test connectivity? Troubleshoot day -2 connectivity and infrastructure problems? Assist in the decommissioning of obsolete equipment as required ? Document updateCompetencies: Experience in installing and configuring wireless devices such as Cisco access points and controllers Experience in managing and monitoring wireless infrastructure including TCP/IP networks Experience with updating monitoring systems Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio Attention to detail.
