That's high tech without the drama. www.microfocus.com About the Role:Micro Focus is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to develop and lead a team of Software Developers and System Engineers working on SaaS engagements complimenting core product engineering. This is an exciting role which will afford a Strong hands on Engineering Manager the opportunity to develop and execute their vision for the team whilst developing software solutions for major financial institutions with a focus on Cloud, Data Analytics and connector opportunities.Using current programming language and technologies, you will lead a software development team and help write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of developed solutions as well as complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. You will be able to support the Business Consultancy team with interactions with client senior stakeholders up to C-level as well as end users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.In this senior role you will also lead an established team of System Engineers supported by a strong team lead. The system engineering team will specify, build and maintain the technical infrastructure required to host developed software solutions and execute supported by project managers and business consultancy delivery teams.This is a remote opportunity managing a US based team and working as part of the Managed Services leadership team. You will report directly to the Director of Managed Services in a new and revenue focused division focused on innovation of new services and Software as a Service provisions.The Software Engineering Manager will:- Lead a team of Software developers and System Engineers with Business Consultant support in the ideation and technical development of innovative enterprise software to deliver SaaS value within cloud compliance archiving.
- Proactively drive the vision for Connector and Data Analytics and define and execute on a plan to achieve that vision.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight for Enterprise software development
- Work closely with business leaders to develop short and long-term strategies
- Manage business expectations, resolve conflicts, and keep businesses aligned
- Develop and drive execution on 6 month and 1 year road maps
- Establish a metrics-based organization, develop key operational metrics and push for continuous improvement.
- Ensure system security and data integrity as core principles
- Advanced Technical Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience managing engineering teams including hiring/termination and performance management
- Experience with object orientated programming languages such as Java
- Technical support to Business teams during GTM activities and software launch including partnering and technical client consulting
- Experience architecting and developing micro services which process unstructured data such as e-mail, chat, and rich media
- Experience with the Spring framework and/or containerized applications is a plus
