Our direct client, a leading law firm within New York City is seeking someone to join their team as a Production/Application Engineer. In this position you will maintain, enhance and support a SaaS solution for the firm. You will also develop and modify reports, support users in resolving application features and functions related trouble tickets, perform requested case statistics and analyses, work with supervisors and users to define new application requirements and coordinate with the software vendor’s development team to implement them. The role will require working directly with developers, business analysts/support personnel and internal users.Skill set desired:

  • 3+ years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing SQL queries
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Development experience using Open Source or .Net technologies would be a plus, but what we are looking for is the ability to think like a developer, so any language will do
  • MS SQL, MYSQL or PostgresSQL experience
  • Ability to navigate PowerBI desirable
  • Experience with web APIs
  • Basic understanding of networking in relation to software configuration
  • Understanding of logical database design and physical database structures a plus
  • Ability to triage the incidents and provide the initial investigation and the details to users
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good Analytical and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Learn business functionality of the application as a by-product of operational support
  • Responsible for production application technical support working closely with internal teams and vendor teams
  • Administer user access permissions and roles to new employees
  • Address user technical requests/issues
  • Proactively monitor user issues until they are fully resolved, in conjunction with the vendor if necessary, keeping the customer informed along the way.
  • Adhere to project development processes including documentation, defect tracking, and status reporting
  • Coordinate the development of new feature requests with the software vendor and ensure that the test processes and deliverables are successful
  • Follow appropriate change/release practices
  • Complete assignments within defined estimates
This role is had a hybrid schedule, where there will be 5 days within the office and 5 days remote during each two-week rotation. They are flexible on the days one individual is in the office, and this is tracked/planned through an online seating chart where employees select their respective days.
