Description:We are currently looking to fill a contractor position in our Market Systems-Quality Assurance (QA) department. The hiring of this position would be ASAP with a current contract timeframe of 2 years upon hire. The office location would be New York and/or Philadelphia – some travel between both offices will be required.You will provide lead QA test engineer expertise, experience, and guidance with focus on build out and test execution of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. This also includes providing automated and manual business functional testing of our most highly visible core trading systems of Nasdaq’s US markets within the cloud infrastructure.You will help design QA test plans and scripts (manual and automated) for validating the AWS cloud set up and configurations of Nasdaq’s core trading systems. Focus will also be needed on designing QA test plans and scripts (manual and automated) to ensure that testing procedures are thoroughly documented, executed, and consistently followed.You will use Jira and Confluence to report issues and consistently track status.You will bring an ample degree of Amazon Web Services industry knowledge to your position including showing a solid history of working within the AWS space as well as hands-on in-depth QA experience for validating both AWS cloud setup/execution as well as business functional testing of systems running within the AWS space. This will help you in implementing a testing methodology maximized to the needs of both the QA and Market Operations groups.You are an excellent communicator both spoken and written using the English language. Detailed documentation and training by you will be required throughout this 2-year timeframe.
  • Automated and manual QA testing of Amazon Web Services cloud setup, configuration, and execution.
  • Automated and manual business functional testing of Nasdaq’s core trading system features.
  • Writing, reviewing, and updating product test plans, test cases, automated test scripts, and scenarios using Confluence and standard documentation (Word, Excel, etc…) methods.
  • All tiers of testing – manual, automated, front-end, and back-end.
  • Execution of test plans, automated test scripts and test cases to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards, development specifications, and/or client requirements.
  • Reporting bugs and tracking status using Jira and Confluence.
  • Build and maintain test tools and test applications to perform automated functional and regression testing.
  • Work closely with development, product development, and operations departments to ensure quality and timely services are delivered to clients.
  • Review system requirements and business processes.
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge and hands-on experience using Amazon Web Services (required).
  • Experience with container technologies – Docker, Kubernetes, etc… (required).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with QA testing or related functions (required).
  • Experience with automation frameworks and tools (required).
  • Experience with LINUX command-line environments (required).
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, git version tracking, and experience specialty with GitLab (required).
  • Ability to create scripts in Powershell, Bash, Python, or other scripting language (required).
  • Obtained at minimum Amazon’s Certified Cloud Practitioner certification (preferred).
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code pattern using Terraform, Packer, etc… (preferred).
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring solutions such as Splunk and Datadog (preferred).
  • Experience with Java and JavaScript programming (preferred).
  • Experience in the financial services industry (preferred).
  • Experience with financial industry messaging protocols – ie: FIX (preferred).
  • Degree in Computer Science or Information Management (preferred).
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analysis and autonomous problem discovery and solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a creative thinker.
  • Self-motivated (self-starter) and intellectually curious.
