- Lead and/or develop and execute extremely complex projects having a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, and software design, which are leading edge of system functionality or technology; spearhead research and development of new technologies as appropriate; and work with Marketing to insure the MRS is valid and attainable.
- Develops and implements concepts for range of exceptionally complex product issues and engineering solutions.
- Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of exceptionally complex engineering problems.
- Specify, supervise, or perform engineering analysis.
- Interface with internal and external customers regarding engineering issues for product line.
- Generate product specifications.
- Specify, supervise the development, design, or modify engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of complex scope.
- Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests.
- Specify and review engineering documentation and engineering processes.
- Travel to field to install new systems (initial installation of newly developed products) and field upgrades or to support field service on difficult technical issues

- Knowledge necessary to perform job include: extensive knowledge of electrical engineering design, troubleshooting to component level.
- System engineering including expert knowledge in solving engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge such as analog and digital circuitry, power controls, and robotics. Safety code proficiency.
- General knowledge of mechanical and software engineering disciplines; extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering design, mechanics, and material science concepts and techniques, including expert knowledge in solving engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge such as thermodynamics, measurement control, heat transfer, stress analysis, Finite Element Analysis, or system integration.
- Thorough knowledge of software engineering concepts and techniques; working knowledge of CAD tools; extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical and software engineering technology trends; and general knowledge of appropriate materials, components and technologies used in the semiconductor equipment or hard disk drive industries.
- Knowledge and skills typically acquired by a completed BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent knowledge) and 5+ years directly related experience;
