About our client A global Supply Chain company is looking for a Supply Chain Solutions Engineer to join their 4PL Leadership team. This group is responsible to design or optimize Supply Chain solutions for new and existing customers.

Job Responsibilities The Business Solutions Engineer will support and lead in managing opportunity responses (Advisory, Supply Management and Strategic Outsourcing) with respect to the customer and company divisions or partners. Key Elements
  • Experience with solution design in transportation, warehousing, and Supply Chain consulting.
  • Experienced with Supply Chain Analytics
  • Experience with Solution Design tools (Network Design and Optimization; Llamasoft, Xcargo)
  • Familiar with Lean & Reengineering Methodologies (VSM, 5D, 5S)
  • Familiar with Supply Chain tools (TMS, WMS, Order Management, Workflow Management)
  • Project Management Skills
Position Summary

ADVISORY/CONSULTING
  • Network Design
    • Optimize transport and inventory cost, rationalize the logistic network
    • Improve Client's network to address their specific constraints (lead time, product availability) at the best cost

    Key Responsibilities
  • Support and lead in managing opportunity responses (Advisory, Supply Management and Strategic Outsourcing) with respect to the customer and Company' divisions or partners.
  • Utilize engineering tools and experience to find value (savings and service improvement) for our existing and potential new clients.
  • Participate in Company SCO Engineering innovation projects.
  • Assist in the understanding of customer's needs (translate into technical requirements)
  • Assist in building the supply chain solution and guaranteeing pertinence of the provided technical study
  • Assist in ensuring the presentation of technical aspects of the offers and the value enhancing of proposed solutions (in cooperation with sales)
  • Tasks, Activities and Critical Success Factors
    • Participate in Company SCO Engineering Solutions Road Map
      • Participate in the growth and continued development of the company Business Solutions Department (Management System, Consulting, provide ideas)
    • Assist in Understanding of customer's needs:
      • Assist in understanding the customers' needs
      • Reads tender and formalizes this understanding in RFQ Overview or project organization
    • Support in Managing Advisory, Sourcing/Procurement and Strategic Outsourcing Project
      • Identifies the project team and skills required to answer to the customer request
      • Assist in Organizing the kick-off, key milestones
      • Assist to Clarify the deliverables of each team member
    • Assist in Building the supply chain solution:
      • Lead the design with the appropriate experts in the Transport Plan, Network design, Lean & Reengineering, Processes analysis with Operations
      • Assist in the solution costing and integrates into the customer template
      • Challenges and analyses the solutions proposed by the Divisions and Partners, he/she makes sure that the selected assumptions and approximations are homogeneous and pertinent.
      • Checks the capacity of the group to implement the suggested solutions and the right estimation of their cost.
    • Assist in ensuring the presentation of technical aspects of the offers and the value enhancing of proposed solutions (in cooperation with sales)
      • Prepares documentation (value proposition)
      • Participates to offer presentation preparation to customers
    Education, Certifications Bsc / Msc (logistic, supply chain management, industrial engineering) Experience
    • +5 years' experience in Engineering / Solution Design at a service provider
    • International experience is a plus
    • Experience in Supply Chain Solution Design
    • Experience in Business controls understanding and experience
    • Experience in Strong communication skills (Written and oral in English)
    • Experience in Coordination and leadership skills (preferably project management experience)
    Skills
    • Experience in network design tools and methodology (Llamasoft, Xcargo, other).
    • Expertise in Supply Chain Management (Transportation, Warehousing, Procurement)
    • Strong analytical skills, understand data collection, statistics and recognize relationship between various process functions
    • Capacity to estimate functional IT needs linked to the proposed solution
    • Competences in project management (planning, cost, quality, deadline)
    • Knowledge of Logistics IT systems (WMS, TMS)
    • Team player influencing and sharing learning with colleagues in business unit, the division and the Group
    • Self-starter and excellent organization skills to be able to handle multiple activities
    • Candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills to be able to foster cross-functional activities
    • Commercial awareness
    • English Proficiency
    • MS Visio, MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel VBA desirable
    Travel
    • Travelling within MX/Canada Region for customer related visits
    • Travel to Guadalajara, MX or Poughkeepsie, NY for team alignment and meetings
    • Estimated Travel time = 25% of overall working days (currently no travel due to Covid-19 pandemic)
    Compensation
    • $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience
    • 10% performance bonus potential depending on both individual and group performance
