Join an elite team of engineering professionals who enable IBM customers to make better decisions quicker on the most trusted hardware platform in today's market.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIf you have a passion for or interest in developing cutting edge microprocessors that run the world's most mission critical workloads, then this is the role for you.Our global, diverse, and elite team of engineers is looking for an individual with a deep interest in hardware pre-silicon verification to ensure complete specification adherence and robust chip designs for IBM's Z and POWER systems. You will work with a variety of teams to understand various hardware architectures and protocols, build and program complex test benches, strategically run millions of simulations, triage and debug fails, iterate on verification methodology, and provide input for future chip designs all while employing state-of-the-art tools.This role requires a deep understanding of computer architecture, proficiency in C and scripting languages, experience working in a unix-based terminal, and knowledge of object-oriented programming paradigms.While working on extremely challenging problems at the forefront of the chip design industry with a dedicated, global team, you will have a variety of opportunities to grow your skills, obtain new ones, and participate in activities both related to and adjacent to your regular role to broaden your scope and explore other possibilities. You will immediately contribute to a culture of teamwork, growth, empathy, and drive!Job Duties:Work with stakeholders and others in a multidisciplinary team to develop test plans, define sim environment requirements and test cases
Construct hardware models, write driving and checking code and create test benches
Run simulations, debug fails, and work with various teams to reach and verify fixes
Score coverage metrics and simulation performance
About the TeamYou will be working daily with a diverse, global team, collaborating to solve problems and verify hardware designs.Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseMinimum of 5 or more years in: Technical level knowledge of Processor/ASIC VLSI Design flow. Understanding of logic design, HW testing, pre- and post-silicon verification and testing. Programming of C and scripting languages such as python, perl, bash
Proficiency working in a unix-based terminal and using version control software such as GIT
Demonstrated experience working through a complete hardware project cycle, from design, to fabrication, to testing
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; demonstrated curiosity and desire to continuously learn Master's degree
Experience with verilog and/or VHDL
Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseMaster's degree
