Lab Support Specialist- Rensselaer, NYPharmaceutical- Permanent PositionAbout the position:The role is more inventory management focused and less on the lab/bench work side. A few of the lab related responsibilities included: reagent mixing, autoclaving, solution preparation, glass washing, etc. but willing to train applicants who are eager to learn.
Lab related responsibilities:Under moderate supervision, provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities. Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations (e.g. media/buffer prep, solvent/reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, some physical testing, witness senior staff experiments).
Maintain lab inventory and labeling (e.g. chemical reagents, glassware, gas cylinder levels). Verification/maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g. balances, pH meters, sonicator cleaning, glass washing).
Equipment Verifications & Calibrations
Inventory related responsibilities:Order processing and tracking.
Communicate all backorders. Additions/Deletions from stock.
Maintain VWR equipment as required.
Rotation of stock including stock replenishment. Process return goods/obsolescence
Communication with VWR distribution center
Put away product as defined within the Laboratory Supply List.
POU (Point of use) cycle replenishment
Part Washing – Running parts through parts washer
Requirement:High school diploma or GED required. A degreed individual is preferred
1-2 years’ experience in Lab Support, material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service.
Preferred skills but not required:Previous lab or quality assurance background
Background working in a pharmaceutical environment or similar
