Monday through Friday, primarily daytime hoursResponsibilitiesThis is an opportunity for an APP to join the interdisciplinary team at the Wilmot Cancer Institute in providing care to patients with lymphoma. The team seeks a good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions. This person must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient environment dealing with a wide range of diseases. Must be adept at planning and prioritizing work. Must be flexible in their approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances. Responsibilities include evaluation and management of acute illness, chronic symptom management, acute and long term follow-ups, coordination of services, and patient and family education. This opportunity also includes the development of proficiencies in procedures such as bone marrow biopsy, and the development of expertise in chemotherapy administration and clinical trial enrollment. Excellent organizational and team skills are essential. Must be NYS eligible for NP certification. QualificationsNurse PractitionerRequires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.Physician AssistantCompletion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn.
