and guidance of a Registered Nurse. The Practical Nurse participates
in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment to
patients and provide clinical support and technical assistance to
the professional medical and consulting staff. A Practical Nurse is
responsible for functioning within the scope of practice dictated by
the authority of the Nurse Practice Act and the Bureau of Prisons.
Maintaining a current LPN license is a requirement for this
position.Work is assigned to rotating shifts and patient care units as needed
to provide nursing care for medical/surgical and psychiatric
patients. These flexible work hours include day, evening and morning
shifts, holidays and weekends. Subject to emergency call.Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent
is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the
institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all
others required by this position and are performed on a regular and
