Description:Manages people, processes and tasks related to on-going support of project management and business analysis functions that drive planning, delivery, and execution across departmental and enterprise projects and programs. Manager participates in the integration of the project and portfolio management culture across the University organization and works to operationalize the mechanics of a maturing project and portfolio management function by collaborating with the Director of Project & Portfolio Management Office (PPMO) to improve delivery, consistency and transparency across various initiatives. Manager works to ensure appropriate service and customer satisfaction levels as defined by the organization. Contributes to the definition, analysis, planning, measuring and improvement of all aspects of resource availability and capacity, matching with project demand. Coach and maintain a positive influence on team members for accountability and action at all times; acts as a champion for continuous improvement. Develop capabilities of the project delivery team. Maintain a long-term view on the required competencies and knowledge for the project management and business analysis disciplines across University IT. Manages HR needs of the team and staff including, but not limited to: making hiring recommendations, training, ongoing supervision, personnel issues and actions, and conducts performance reviews. Establishes clear goals, opportunities and career trajectories for team members consistent with strategic direction from PPMO Director. Project Delivery & Governance Supports delivery of standard project management methodologies and processes that focus on measurable outcomes, using Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches; evolves standards with Director of PPMO based on PPM maturity. Provides guidance and quality assurance to University IT project and program managers on the development of project charters and plans, scope, risk analysis, deliverables, timelines, and vendor relationships. Participates in management and conflict resolution around resource interdependencies Functions as the initial escalation manager for project barriers and risks. May act in a Project Manager role for assigned initiatives Overall Services Delivery: Assures quality of service delivery through expectations, oversight, and management controls Allocates personnel, participates in budgeting and billing processes for related project delivery responsibilities.Experience Level:Expert LevelAbout TEKsystems: We're partners in transformation.
