User Experience Designer Job in Rochester, NY: The User Experience Designer will report to the Director of Marketing and be responsible for designing a world class user experience for all applications. This Designer will primarily focus on consumer facing applications. The User Experience Designer will collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, key customer staff, and feature teams to understand requirements, identify core problems to be solved, and translate this understanding into compelling, elegant, and intuitive consumer experiences. The individual will also serve as a change agent, working with our stakeholders and development teams, to instill a user-centered mindset and focus.

Responsibilities of the User Experience Designer Job in Rochester, NY: • As a User Experience Designer in our development team, you will be part of a team of working across the organization to provide the best possible experiences for our applications. • Collaborate with software roadmap planners to transform product visions into beautiful, elegant experiences • Work with product management, customers, and system analysts to determine requirements, articulate user needs, and translate those needs into concepts and elegant interface designs • Ability to understand the larger project goals as well as the details of a project and balance those in your work • Working creatively in the face of constraints (technical constraints, time constraints, customer feedback) • Define interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications • Design application user interfaces (including information architecture and interaction design) • Communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to stakeholders • Evaluate existing user experiences and identifying areas for improvement • Participate in user testing sessions and interviewing customers with relevant skills and responsibilities • Meet with business clients and developers to collect requirements and verify design feasibility • Research UI design and development techniques to find innovative and elegant solutions to complex UI problems • Mentor and guide other UX and Graphic designers to maintain design consistency and coherence across the product as appropriate • Produce design documents that explain your design to clients and developers • Create UI resources such as flows, wireframes, simple visuals, audio, video, and help documentation • Test application UIs to ensure proper implementation, and filing bugs to track problems/discrepancies

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Human Factors or equivalent undergraduate degree.
  • Masters preferred.
  • Desired Experience for the User Experience Designer Job in Rochester, NY
  • 3-5 years of direct and relevant experience in a User Experience Designer role.
  • 2-3 years of experience in creating User Experiences for consumer facing applications, specifically focused on e-Commerce.
  • Relevant experience conducting or participating in formal usability / user testing processes
  • Experience working effectively as a remote contributor
  • Desired Technical Skills of the User Experience Designer Job in Rochester, NY:
  • Strong technical skills including solid understanding of computer operating systems (desktop and mobile) and specific, relevant technologies used in the development of their specific product(s).
  • Proficiency in tools focused on rapid prototyping as well as high fidelity prototyping via Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar products like Sketch, Axure and Invision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding demonstration and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of multiple software development technologies that will be used in the development of the products to be managed.
  • 1-3 years' experience with SCRUM or an equivalent software development methodology.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Workstation OS is preferred to be MacOS.
