Web Developer - Contract to hire Please no 3rd parties or c2c candidates
Job Description Our client is looking for a Drupal Developer to support our website and other related projects. The Drupal Developer will be responsible for front-end development and theming. This position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, etc.) and aesthetics. The best candidates have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. This position has the option to be hybrid office/remote or 100% remote.Duties and Responsibilities Participate in website development/deployment projects. Work as part of the marketing/web team members to support UI/UX of websites: Collaborate with UI/UX visual designer to match and execute visual design intent Execute the development of web applications from wireframes to pixel-perfect and fully functioning websites using Drupal best practices. Ability to handle all frontend Drupal tasks Write and debug frontend code for Drupal: o HTML, CSS, Javascript o Theme template files, preprocess functions, theme hooks Drupal site-building tasks: o Enable and configure modules o Settings, configurations, views, menus, view modes Work with command-line tools such as Drush and GIT in a team environment Research emergent web solutions, web site development software, and best practices in code, security and long-term strategies for web-delivered content Qualifications and necessary skills Minimum 2 years of experience developing in Drupal 8, including Drupal twig templating experience and SCSS, theming, custom module development, etc. with the ability to learn new software and technologies as necessary Strong skills in HTML, CSS, PHP, and modern Javascript techniques Experience with Drush, and Git Experience working with an IT department/organization, responding to requirements for systems, versions, integrations, documentation, and other controls Experience with migrating from 7 to any other Drupal is highly preferred Experience working with agile workflows, and supporting tools, such as JIRA Experience with Apache, Linux, PHP and MySQL Experience with responsive and adaptive design Excellent problem-solving, time management, collaboration and communication skills Attention to detail and excellent organization skills Proactive approach Some back-end knowledge, is preferred Results-oriented, reliable, able to work under pressure Team Mentality - jumping in to help others as needed, empowering and collaborating with others Flexible and able to adapt to change on the fly, maintaining a positive attitude, and focusing on the path ahead Ability to communicate technical ideas to business partners and external vendors Availability to provide "on call" support, as required.
