Job Description SummaryThe Wind Cell Leader will serve as the key lead for an exciting manufacturing team in our Gas Power Schenectady Facility. This is a core manufacturing leadership position responsible for the delivery of Power Generation equipment to a global customer base in a critical time for GE Vernova. In this position, the successful candidate will have to lead a team of both salaried direct reports and assembly technicians in the successful execution of safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the ability to solve technical issues, execute continuous improvement programs, manage P&E budgets and effectively motivate a diverse, high performing team.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees. This includes production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
Manages a small to medium team of salaried professionals as well as hourly production workers. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
Develop and communicate a manufacturing cell strategy that cost effectively meets or exceeds business commitments.
Support the development of the master production schedule through SAP scheduling and execute customer commitments on-time while ensuring that safety, quality and cost targets are met.
Create an environment of respect and trust among the cell and ensure open lines of communication for the identification and resolution of both technical and personnel issues.
Serve as a key partner and interface with engineering, sourcing, materials, quality, logistics and projects teams to ensure the efficient delivery of product to project site.
Lead the improvements of all lines including strategically developing communication rhythms, setting proper staffing levels, appropriately developing assembly processes, determining standard work, and synchronizing efforts between GE and suppliers to ensure a flawless ramp.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing role
Minimum of 5 years of experience in people leader role in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment

Prior experience as an Ops Leader and either quality process engineer or manufacturing engineer.

The salary range for this position is 118,500-$197,500 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this role has variable compensation incentive of 15%.
