Job Description
- Lead and manage projects covering GHG assessments, carbon footprints, emissions targets and reduction, carbon offset, and carbon neutrality.
- Propose environmental and climate change related strategies and deliver corresponding advisory services to measure, audit, and manage greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency and sustainability performance.
- Liaise with clients, manage client relationships on advisory projects in China and Hong Kong.
- Engage with new and prospective clients to identify and develop solutions to manage client’s sustainability needs, to expand and develop new business with existing and prospective clients.
- Maintaining a high profile externally and through membership and participation (i.e., technical presentations and speeches) in industry functions, and support relevant public events hosted by SGS China and SGS Hong Kong.
- Assist business development and marketing team to expand the ESG market in China and Hong Kong.
- Reporting to Deputy Director to account for above responsibilities including project progress, milestones achievement, and financial performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in sustainabilityadvisorywith a track record of delivering practical solutions to clients on sustainability improvements in their business
- Broad experience and knowledge of different sustainability reporting frameworks in the market
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret, and respond effectively to sensitive issues as related to sustainability
- Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, Sustainability, Climate Change or related discipline
- Specialist in development and delivery of carbon management projects
- Demonstrate successful experience in working with corporate clients
- Strong project planning skills with the ability to work of multiple projects and initiatives involving multiple senior stakeholders
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, to understand client needs and deliver to meet their expectations
- Willingness to undertake occasional business travel
- Candidate must be a motivated, independent individuals with initiative, who can work autonomously and committed in delivering the highest quality services to our clients
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
- Candidates with less experience in a related field may be considered for the position of Sustainability Manager
