Our client, a leading utility company, is hiring a Java Developer on a contract basis.
Work Location Spring Valley, NY Summary We are looking for a strong technical SME to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a range of IT skills spanning Java development, Linux, Scripting (multiple languages) and knowledge of Databases (SQL and associated skills, not database administration). The ideal candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be proficient at authoring technical documentation. This candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining various applications and interfaces that support the overall Outage Management suite of systems.Skills & Requirements •Java/J2EE, Spring, Microservices •Database knowledge o Excellent Proficiency writing SQL and SQL scripts ? Oracle Required ? PostgreSQL Preferred •Version Control o Github o TFS •Linux knowledge and proficiency in navigating the command line/familiarity with common Linux tools o Red Hat preferred •Bash scripting o Perl is a plus •Excellent customer facing skills that include conducting compelling technical briefing & demonstrations. The person should have a technical aptitude to implement new technologies and articulate the solutions to the customer. The following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate.
