Job Description

The day to day role of a Senior Consultant within the Programme Advisory team is diverse and will typically include:

  • Providing industry-leading advisory and consulting services to our major project clients across all stages of their major programme lifecycle.
  • Working as part of a consulting team, supporting and in some cases, directly leading aspects of commission engagements.
  • Being strategically involved with exciting and challenging commissions that improve the way an organisation develops its capital strategy, accesses and allocates capital, and sets up its major programmes to perform and deliver its objectives.
  • Deploying a variety of consulting techniques to translate our client's strategic ambitions into a clearly defined, controllable and fully deliverable major programme.
  • Supporting the definition of and establishing of industry leading techniques in programme governance, organisational set-up, gap analysis, processes, toolkits, programme/project systems and performance monitoring.
  • Reporting to the Turner & Townsend nominated Project Director/Associate Director internally and acting as a key member of the client commission team at project level. The Senior Consultant will be based in a collaborative and supporting team environment.
  • Potential business travel outside of New South Wales, as may be required by the business and our clients

Qualifications

The Senior Consultant role will require the following qualifications and levels of experience:

  • Minimum degree level and/or professional (chartered) qualification in one of the following fields: management consulting, business management, procurement, contract management, project management, project controls or information technology.
  • Five years + experience in a similar consulting role, with the ability to manage complex advisory or specialist areas of major programmes within a consulting team environment; or over five years of experience within a specialist technical field of the construction industry that can provide value to our major programme clients and provide added value to our advisory services.
  • A good understanding of business improvement approaches including business process re-engineering, system development, change management and other relevant techniques.
  • An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate coherent and persuasive advisory advice to senior clients.
  • Demonstration of similar consulting experience, preferably on high value capital programmes of medium to high complexity.
  • Experience in digital data analytic tools is also advantageous.
  • Australia and New Zealand regional experience is also desirable.
