Security Engineer

Term: Permanent / Full-time

JOB DESCRIPTIONOur client has an immediate opening for a Cyber Security Administrator to join their Uniondale, Long Island office. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work in conjunction with third-party security vendor to monitor and protect all systems/networks.
  • Perform data risk analysis and implement recommendations for application security, access control and corporate data safeguards to defend systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction.
  • Provide immediate response to security incidents and post-incident analysis.
  • Define, implement and maintain corporate security policies in conjunction with Technology Committee and Cyber Partners.
  • Assist with RFP and Outside Vendor Security Assessments and Audits.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, NYDFS security incident protocols and reporting.
  • Work towards future certification in ISO or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Assist IT in configuring and supporting security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, patch management systems, etc.
  • Work with IT in developing and updating business continuity and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Work with staff as necessary to ensure adherence to internal security policies.
  • Coordinate security initiatives with outside vendors.
  • Assess, test and recommend new security products and technologies where necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
