Job Description

As a Senior Technology Architect you will identify new enabling technologies and platforms to help solve technical challenges, and serve as a subject matter expert for one or more software solutions. As a member of this team you will lead research and consultation decisions on existing or emerging technologies and associated services, processes and support strategies while also leading the evaluation of technology innovation and set direction for technology roadmap, implementation and support strategies for technology roadmap and domain architecture. Your responsibilities will also include defining documentation requirements and assist in the preparation of proper documentation compliant with standard operating procedures. You will also be responsible for managing definition of user needs, providing input to functional design, testing, troubleshooting and basic system management as well as monitoring and testing performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with the teams to implement those fixes. In Addition, you will assess risks and implement mitigation strategies within the technology architecture while collaborating with business development, IP development and partner stakeholders to align solution strategy and priorities. Finally, you will be responsible for building and maintaining VMware Horizon's perimeter solution for Enterprise solutions. Perimeter consists of VMWare Horizon and Unified Access Gateways (UAG's) which are used for our consumers to access with virtual desktop from in the office and externally. Management of the environment includes lifecycle management and escalated support. Working Environment Onsite: No Relocation Assistance Offered This position offers an Onsite working environment. Meaning you will primarily work in a Cerner office or client site. If your current geographical location requires relocating, Cerner will not offer relocation assistance to the specified location. #LI-Onsite

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • At least 2 years of system engineering and/or system architecture work experience
    • At least 6 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of complex, full-cycle technology implementation work experience
  • At least 5 years systems management, implementation and operations work experience for client/server applications
  • At least 2 years of experience of continuous and reliable operations for hospital infrastructure
  • At least 5 years experience in TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting work
  • At least 2 years of Windows Active Directory work experience
  • At least 2 years VMWare vCenter/ESX work experience
  • At least 2 years of experience implementing and supporting several if not all of the following: VMware Horizon, Application Virtualization, Load Balancers, hypervisor design, hyper converged deployments, VSAN administration, Microsoft SQL, GPO management, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure deployments, and VMware and VDI environments
  • At least 4 years of experience with Dell Technologies such as Dell EMC Unity/VNX, Dell EMC ISILON and Dell EMC VXRail

Expectations
  • Must reside in or around the Valhalla, NY area
  • In-depth understanding/administration of Windows Server versions 2012/2016/2019 and Windows 10
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure foundation including DNS, DHCP, LAN, WLAN, VLAN, OSI model, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, and PKI
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed /by local regulations
  • /Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
The estimated rate of pay for this job is $111,600 - $186,000, which may vary based on education, experience, merit, geographic location, or other job-related factors.
