The group conducts research in cutting-edge AI and ML technologies that impact enterprise applications in large industries like Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities. As a part of IBM Research, you will develop innovative and cutting-edge solutions to real-world problems encountered by IBM's customers and the larger ecosystem.You will work in close collaboration with other researchers and engineers to develop, maintain and support world-class systems. You will also deliver production level components to support the commercialization of the resulting assets. Demonstrated communication skills are essential.This role is available in the following location: Yorktown Heights, NY.Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseAt least 3 years of experience with Python and other programming languages (e.g., Java, C), and experience with distributed execution libraries
Strong innovation skills and ability to solve computational problems
Strong experience with system building/debugging/testing skills
Expertise in distributed data processing
Strong fundamentals of distributed systems
Break down a determined use case down into discrete MVPs (minimal viable products)
Strong experience with Unix/Linux systems and with software development best practices, collaboration tools, git, CI/CD, DevOps
Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseBig data analytics and management including NoSQL data stores
Intermediate level experience building cloud applications using APIs and services
Experience with container-based technology (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
